Touching doll 01
This is the first doll in the Touching dolls series.
After a period of work in Germany, in Düsseldorf, as a costume designer, where I recovered a wonderful book on South African dolls, I began to experiment and reflect on the doll / fetish binomial and on the archetypal and apotropaic meaning of the doll.
This project is a development of the idea of the cahier de voyage as a personal and interior journey. The Touching dolls has in fact on their own journey, sewn on. His life story is in fact present between the clothes and the body. The doll itself then becomes the notebook where all the stages of her particular existence are inscribed, which here tells of the 4 elements of water, air, earth and fire and how she wants to tell them.
