Description
One of the perfumes par excellence of the summer, basil is able to make any dish appetizing and Mediterranean. At the center of the famous Ligurian pesto, we imagine basil on a succulent plate of pasta with tomato sauce, on pizza or on a focaccia. But its so aromatic and characteristic flavor lends itself to characterize many dishes in an unexpected way and, why not, even cocktails like the Basito, of which I report the link to the recipe at the bottom.
And to create some mystery around this plant, I will tell you that "Basilikos", from the Greek "royal herb", is the protagonist in Greek mythology as an antidote to the basilisk, the snake-shaped monster.
